Meet Ocean Aimee

We stumbled across Aimee's page and instantly fell in love with everything about her and her feed. Since then, we've had the pleasure of working with her on numerous occasions and continue to love the incredible content she posts featuring the big blue!

We had the opportunity to chat and find out a little more about Aimee & her life spent in the water 💦

What does your ideal day look like?

My ideal day would include nice weather, good friends/family blue water, surfing or snorkeling, watching whales, eating good food and drinking coffee.

What are you doing to play your part in looking after our ocean?

I work in tourism so I am lucky to be able to show heaps of different people the beautiful reef and creatures that we see here. Teaching people about what they see, how to look after it  and how everything out there is important and has its place including sharks which a lot of people are really scared of. I also like to share my photos with the hope that people that don’t have the opportunities to see all these amazing creatures can see how beautiful they are and hope it makes them want to protect it as well. 

If someone is wanting to get into it OR play their part, what would you suggest?

Support eco tourism, don’t buy seafood if you don’t know where it comes from or how it has been caught. Talk to other people about the importance of sharks and other marine life that people don’t really love. Watch documentaries. Don’t harass anything, treat everything with the respect it deserves.

You take some incredible photos both above water and underwater, what cameras do you use?

Aw thank you :) I use a Nikon D850 and D810, both above and underwater.

What is your full time hustle?

I work as a photographer for 3 Islands Whaleshark Dive on whaleshark and humpback whale tours for 8 months of the year and also for salty hearts free diving school all year round taking photos on the courses.

What is your side hustle?

I sell prints and jewellery on my website and also take photos for brands, businesses and people :)
